Gross yield of greenhouse vegetable crops as of 21st November 2018 throughout the country has grown to 875.7 thousand tonnes – which, per data of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, is 27.9% higher than during the same period last year.

Cucumber harvests during the reporting period increased by 17.6% to 526.4 thousand tonnes, while tomato harvests increased by 48.5% to 335.8 thousand tonnes. Harvests of other crops increased by 25% to 13.5 thousand tonnes.

According to forecasts by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, production of greenhouse vegetables during the current year could reach as high as 1 million tonnes, a new record (+12.3% relative to 2017).
