Moscow localities took the leadership in the production of greenhouse vegetables among Russian regions. That was reported by the media-service of the regional ministry of agriculture.

According to Andrey Razin, Ministerial head, the region is now ranked the second. The first is the Krasnodar territory. The greenhouse croppage in Moscow localities totalled 18k tonnes.

The leading districts within the region are Kashira, Lukhovitsy and Odintsovsky district.

In mid-March, iz.ru portal informed that Russian self-sufficiency in tomatoes surpassed the demand. Following the results of 2017, a total of 3,23m tonnes were collected, while the demand was 1.47m tonnes.
