Over 17 billion rubles worth of agricultural investment projects are due to be realized in the Stavropol province by year’s end, noted regional governor Vladimir Vladimirov in commenting on a schedule of government meetings on agricultural development held on Tuesday, 9th October in Mineralnye Vody with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Governor Vladimirov then clarified that among the themes for discussion was the introduction of a wide range of new facilities – a produce storage center; greenhouse, grain cultivation and livestock production facilities; processing facilities, and a superintensive apple garden.

This year, according to Vladimirov, four new facilities are due to open in the region, in which roughly 2 billion rubles have been invested.

The regional governor also noted that for the Stavropol province, as a breadbasket region for the country, it was important to “strengthen its historical reputation with consideration for strategic goals” emphasised by the head of the government. He then pointed out that in the province, a wide range of other agricultural activities were already in place and being developed actively, including a wide range of milk and meat production in addition to that of greenhouse complexes.
