According to Aleksandr Tregubov, regional Deputy Minister of Agriculture, farmers in the Stavropol region are planning to increase export by 3.5 times by 2024.
“Poultry meat export will rise from the current 50 000 tons to 250 000 tons. Other core indexes will increase by 3.5 times approximately”, Mr. Tregubov said.
According to him, in export of agri-products the accent is made on the amelioration development – amelioration systems construction, renovation and technical reequipment on the area of more than 16 000 ha are planned for the next two years. More than 3000 ha of gardens of super-intensive type are planned to be set out by 2024, that will allow to increase total output up to 120 000 tons by 2024. “Cotton can be turned into export culture in crop farming, as its production is being restored in the region and can potentially reach up to 50 000 tons of raw cotton a year”, explains the Minister.
DAMATE company started the project aimed at the production of up to 11 000 tons of lamb, 5 000 of which are for the export purposes. RESURS company plans to increase poultry export volume from 50 000 tons to 250 000 tons and to enter the new markets of Southeast Asia and Latin America.
Ministry press centre representatives explain that the attention will be paid to the development of deep processing. The implementation of large investment projects on soy, meat and beans is planned for the nearest future.
By the previous information, agri-products supply volume from the region to other countries equals about $313 mln per year. Key export destinations are – China, Persian Gulf countries, Southeast Asia, India, Africa.
