In 2019 the Stavropol region will allocate more than 70 m roubles to develop regional project on Agriculture Produce Export, as informed by the press-centre of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol region.

Key target of the Stavropol Agriculture Produce Export project is to increase export by 3.5 times to 1.1 bn by 2024.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and Government of the region signed an agreement on budget appropriations of 71 m 293.3 k roubles in 2019.

To date the allocation of additional financing of 543 m roubles on irrigated land expansion is under consideration.

“We will try to complete the tasks of export boosting by means of developing amelioration, cotton farming, lamb production and protected ground vegetable farming. As a result, the compatibility of Stavropol products will rise”, says the representative of the Ministry.

He added that the Programme implies the increase of gross output by amelioration development and yield growth via application of new high-quality varieties and high-end means of protection. Besides, regional authorities develop corporate programmes of international collaboration first with the existing exporters and within the investment projects development.

The representative of the Ministry says, “Delegations from the Stavropol region participate in international exhibitions, demonstrations, business missions. The Ministry provides organisational support and training seminars”.

As informed earlier, regional agriculture products are exported to 40 countries of the world. 80% of export is the share of grain. The government plans to rise gross grain crops production to 13 m tonnes, significantly enhance protected ground vegetables production and increase output of livestock breeding by 2024.
