Retailer initiated the production of vegetables and potato. Moreover, the company expressed the interest in gardening.
“The strategy for the development of own production before 2020 is approved. We have 3 main sites to implement the projects: Krasnodar, Tver, and Toliatti”, said Khachatur Pombukhchan, Magnit Financial Director.
“In 2018 the company will launch the construction of greenhouse complexes in the Krasnodar territory, which will be used for the cultivation of tomatoes and other crops. Besides, we consider the possibility to get involved in gardening”, added Mr. Pombukhchan.
Previously, the retailer purchased the assets “Rostov-na-Dony” and now, the company can produce potatoes, carrots, cabbages, onions.
The company focuses on the development of own industrial park “Krasnodar”. It will be commissioned in 2020. The industrial park will include a mushroom complex, integrated factory for compost production, etc. Project investment is estimated at 40bn RUB.
Magnit is one of the leaders of Russian retail. In October 2015 the company announced the plans on the construction of an industrial park in the Krasnodar territory (Magnit headquarter is located in Krasnodar). The retailer also owns a large greenhouse complex.
